Brokerage Specific ETF Portfolios
The following brokerage specific plans are based on brokerage suggested ETFs. Brokerages such as Fidelity, Charles Schwab or TD Ameritrade allow certain ETFs traded commission free in their users' accounts. Sometimes, they also suggested certain ETFs for their clients. These plans can be implemented in both IRA and taxable investment accounts.
Similar to a 401k plan, these plans consist of a list of candidate ETFs suggested by brokerages.

Fidelity clients can trade 30 commission free iShares ETFs that cover 5 major asset classes: US Equity, Foreign Equity, Emerging Market Equity, Fixed Income and REITs. iShares ETFs are the oldest liquid ETFs. Compared with Vanguard and Schwab ETFs, however, their expenses are usually higher. The only missing major asset is a commodity ETF. |

Schwab provides 14 commission free ETFs that cover 5 major asset classes and 14 minor asset classes. The major asset classes it covers are Fixed Income, US Equity, Foreign Equity, Emerging Market Equity and REITs. These ETFs have some lowest expense ratios, rivaling or bettering Vanguard ETFs. |

TD Ameritrade's 101 commission free ETFs are the most comprehensive in terms of diversification. It covers 6 major asset classes and 44 minor asset classes. The major asset classes it covers are Emerging Market Equity, Foreign Equity, Fixed Income, US Equity, Commodity and REITs. However, some of ETFs are country specific ETFs or commodity subsector ETFs. This can result in higher volatility of a portfolio. |

Asset Allocation Model Portfolios
Each plan has Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) moderate and Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) moderate model portfolios. The portfolios' holdings are decided by their strategy's allocation and fund selection from the candidate funds.
Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) : (Free)
based on main stream Modern Portfolio Theory that emphasizes diversification and portfolio re-balancing.
Good for: Armchair
or beginning investors, prefer mainstream and passive role.
Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) : (Premium: basic subscription )
based on major diversified asset trends to dynamically adjust risk assets (such as stocks) and
fixed income (bonds) allocations.
Good for: Active or
