POINT PARK UNIVERSITY DEFINED CONTRIBUTION RETIREMENT PLAN Contribution, Match and Other Plan Policies
- Each year, participants may contribute a percentage of pretax annual compensation, as defined in the plan document, up to the maximum limits of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC).
- Participants also may designate all or a portion of their deferral contributions as after-tax contributions into a Roth account.
- Participants who have attained age 50 before the end of the plan year, as well as participants who have worked for the Company for at least 15 years, are eligible to make catch-up contributions.
- Participants also may contribute amounts representing distributions from other qualified defined benefit or defined contribution plans (rollover).
- The Plan includes an automatic enrollment provision whereby all newly eligible employees are automatically enrolled in the Plan unless they affirmatively elect not to participate in the Plan.
- Automatically enrolled participants have their deferral rate set at 5% of eligible compensation and their contributions invested in a designated balanced fund until changed by the participant.
- Participants that contribute at least 2% of eligible compensation to the Plan and that have at least one year of service are eligible to receive nondiscretionary Company matching contributions equal to the following: Percent of Eligible Compensation Contributed to the Plan by Participants: 2.0% -> 3.0%, 3.0% -> 4.5%, 4.0% -> 6.0%, 5.0% or more -> 7.5%.
- Nondiscretionary Company matching contributions are not to exceed 7.5% of eligible compensation contributed to the Plan by a participant.
- Participants are vested immediately in their contributions and the Company’s matching contributions plus actual earnings thereon.
