BEREA COLLEGE RETIREMENT PLAN Contribution, Match and Other Plan Policies
- The Plan permits eligible employees to have the Sponsor make annual contributions of up to 100% of eligible compensation through a salary deferral election.
- Employee rollover contributions are also permitted.
- Participants who have attained age 50 before the end of the Plan year are eligible to make catch-up contributions.
- The Plan Document also includes an automatic deferral feature whereby a participant is treated as electing to defer 2% of eligible compensation unless the participant made an affirmative election otherwise.
- The automatic deferral feature also provides for an annual increase in the percentage deferred and is ultimately capped at 10% of eligible compensation.
- Each year, the Sponsor contributes 8% of each participant’s eligible compensation to participant accounts.
- Participants are immediately vested in their voluntary contributions and Sponsor’s contributions, plus earnings thereon.
