W. E. AUBUCHON CO., INC. 401(K) RETIREMENT PLAN Contribution, Match and Other Plan Policies
- Upon hire participants may contribute up to 90% of their plan compensation on a pre-tax or after-tax (Roth) basis, subject to Internal Revenue Code (IRC) limitations.
- All newly hired eligible employees are automatically enrolled in the Plan at a contribution rate of 3%, within 30 days of their date of hire, unless they make a different election.
- Those participants who are automatically enrolled will have their deferral rate increased by 1% in January of each year not to exceed 10%, unless the participant opts out.
- Participants who are at least age 50 may make an additional catch-up contribution subject to IRC limitations.
- The Company provides a safe harbor matching contribution of 100% of deferrals up to the first 1% of deferrals and 50% of deferrals on the next 5% of compensation, for a maximum safe harbor matching contribution of 3.5%.
- Vesting schedule for discretionary non-elective contributions: 1 year of service: 20% 2 years: 40% 3 years: 60% 4 years: 80% 5 years: 100% Participants hired prior to April 1, 2013 are immediately 100% vested in all employer matching contributions and earnings.
- Both the safe harbor matching contributions and additional discretionary matching contributions are subject to a cliff vesting schedule, where participants are 0% vested for the first two years and 100% vested following the two-year anniversary from their date of hire.
- Participants become 100% vested in the Company’s contributions and earnings thereon upon death, total and permanent disability, or attainment of normal retirement age.
