BITGO 401(K) PLAN Contribution, Match and Other Plan Policies
- Participants may elect to reduce their compensation by a specific percentage or dollar amount and have that amount contributed to the Plan as a salary deferral, not to exceed the dollar limit which is set by law.
- There are two types of salary deferrals: pre-tax 401(k) deferrals and Roth 401(k) deferrals.
- Participants who are at least age 50 or will attain age 50 before the end of a calendar year may elect to defer additional amounts called catch-up contributions.
- The Plan also has an automatic enrollment feature in which a participant will be automatically enrolled at 1% approximately 30 days after the eligibility requirements are met.
- The Company will make a safe-harbor employer contribution equal to a uniform percentage of participants’ salary deferrals.
- For 2024, the safe-harbor matching percentage was 100% of employee deferrals that do not exceed 3% of compensation plus 50% of employee deferrals between 3% and 5% of compensation.
- Participants are always 100% vested in their salary deferrals including pre-tax and Roth 401(k) deferrals, catch-up contributions, rollovers, safer harbor contributions, profit sharing contributions and any earnings thereon.
