STANFORD CONTRIBUTORY RETIREMENT PLAN Contribution & Match Policy
1. Employee Contribution Rates: Participants may elect to contribute their eligible pre-tax or after-tax compensation to the Plan up to the amount allowable under the Plan document and current income tax regulations.
2. Employer Match/Contribution Conditions: The university makes a basic contribution of 1% to 5% of each eligible participant’s basic compensation, depending on years of eligible service. The university also makes a matching contribution of 1.5% to 5% of each eligible participant’s compensation, depending on the participant’s elected deferral.
3. Vesting Schedule/Eligibility: Participants are immediately vested in their accounts. Employees of the university, except for students, are eligible to participate immediately; part-time employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours a week or less than 1,000 hours over a 12-month period, temporary, and casual employees are eligible after completing one year of service.
4. Roth 401(k) Contribution: The Plan permits participants to make Roth contributions utilizing after-tax contributions.
