Facing Retirement Fears

What’s scarier: death or poverty? In a recent survey conducted by Allianz Life Insurance Company, 61% of Americans between the ages of 44 and 75 said they fear running out of money more than they fear dying. And 56% of those between 44 and 54 worry they won’t be able to cover basic living expenses once they retire. Sarah Morgan of SmartMoney highlighted some of the ways that these fears can be allayed.

One of the key elements is maximizing retirement income by investing wisely today so that compound interest can build your nestegg. Sadly, most of us spend more time researching a digital camera or iPhone than looking at smart investment strategies for 401K and IRA type plans.
