IRA Assets Overtake 401(k)s

06/25/2010 0 comments

Howard Stock at BankInvestmentConsultant.com reported that Individual Retirement Account (IRA) assets have overtaken assets held in 401(k) plans and 403(b) plans for the first time, according to a Cogent Research report.

The article went on to speculated reasons that caused this shift: job loss, baby boomers starting new businesses, fewer Gen X and Yers are enrolling because of student loans etc.

Shifting from 401Ks to IRAs allows individuals to have more flexibility to invest and thus more responsibility. Finding an effective investment solution and staying in the process are more important than ever.
