Rethinking high yield bond funds as an asset class

In reference to the 6/9 newsletter article on this subject, in the future, if a rebalance calls for a high yield bond fund (and, of course one is available in a given plan), will the MP algy now select a combo of a small cap fund + a treasury bond fund in lieu of the high yield fund?

  • Our algorithm won't automatically do that as that will shut off these funds completely. However, the best way to deal with this is to avoid using these funds in a candidate list or in a plan.

  • Or if a high yield bond is indicated to purchase, one could (should?) purchase the indicated amount, 70% intermediate treasury and 30% small cap blend instead.  Isn't that what the article concludes?
